The idea of Krekuged

Krekuged – “write yours” is a project which aims to motivate individuals both in Armenia/Artsakh and the Diaspora to write a personal short story, a special experience or about a certain incident related to the second Artsakh War in 2020 and its direct aftermath.

The first objective is to encourage writing itself. Although it is often not easy to write about emotionally loaded themes or traumatic incidents yet writing will help both on an individual as well as on a collective level to process the happenings both mentally and psychologically. It will also prepare a special atmosphere of listening to each other. The goal is to gather 1000 stories from Armenia and 1000 from the Diaspora. Let us build a beautiful mosaic with what our heart wants to tell. Let us create a new spirit of writing which will lead us to the second objective. Let us make the world hear those authentic, truly human stories. Here starts the challenge of translating these anecdotes and pieces of literature into 100 different languages. An undertaking which might sound utopic yet possible to achieve collectively and with our friends all around the world. With dedication, organization, and cooperation we can achieve it. If at the beginning, we just translate 100 stories into 30 languages we will already have achieved something remarkable.

The third objective is reading these stories on a special day all around the world on as many squares and places as possible. It would be appreciated if actors and actresses, artists, and celebrities from all around would join this event.
